It’s about time an NBA referee realizes that the game is not about them. Today, pasty fat boy got what was coming to him and was suspended indefinitely throughout the NBA Finals for 2007. I hope to never see Joey Crawford ref another game in any kind of sport for the rest of his life. I don’t want to even hear that he’s helping his son with his little league games or standing watch at a South Texas bingo game or anything. Just go to the gym, work off about 80 lbs of donut batter and get a freaking tan. After that, sit down, shut up and stop getting in the way Joey. You’re worthless.

Who is this fat white supremisist looking freak and why is he still an official in the NBA? Yesterday marked one of the most idiotic days in NBA history when a class act like Tim Duncan got thrown out of the contest between the Spurs and the Mavericks at a critical time in the game as well as the season for San Antonio. Duncan was sitting on the sidelines joking with his fellow players when suddenly this moron turns to him and tosses him out of the game. The Spurs were still fighting for the number 2 spot in the playoffs when some fat idiot of a ref thought the game was about him and decided to give the Mavericks the game. I’ve been watching NBA all my life. What for? It’s run by dumbasses and officiated by a throng of ignorance. Shame on everyone who was not appalled by this.

Since my Grandfather passed, I haven’t really been in the mood to write anything down. The whole 21 gun salute and taps and whatnot was rather depressing. Some good things have happened however.

My sister completed the requirements for her Master’s Degree in Education. The ceremony is this Saturday at 9 a.m. One more long drive, but it does give me time to myself to think and relax. Leslie got a new car since her last one pretty much died. I was driving her around for about 2 weeks so this is a tremendous relief. Fred got him and I some tickets to Morales vs. Pacquiao III in Vegas in November. Our flights and our rooms are booked and we’re ready to go. Vegas baby, Vegas.

I’ve seen about 10 boxing matches in person, but I’ve never been to one in Vegas. This is really exciting to me as a boxing fan since most big fights usually take place there and there’s a lot of history there as well. I hope to do a bit of gambling, but I don’t want to overdo it. (I’m sure that’s what most visitors to Vegas say)

Another bit of good news, I went to the Mack Brown meet-n-greet this year for the 3rd year in a row. This time, they had the National Championship trophy on display and you could take pictures next to it and everything. I also got a couple of signatures from Mack to give to my brother-in-law.

Leslie and I watched a movie that Jerry lent me called V for Vendetta. That is a great, great movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it and hightly recommend it. It’s an epic tale of classy defiance with a lot of style and violence mixed together. Tremendous film.

I took tomorrow off from work because I thought my sister’s ceremony was on Friday, but it’s not. I guess I’ll just wake up late, go to the gym, then pick up my rental that I’m only paying 39 dollars for the whole weekend, and take my time getting over there.

That is all for now, I hope to have more good news in my next posting.

The last of my grandparents passed yesterday at 7:16 am. I am traveling back to the Valley in about 45 minutes to help with the rosary and funeral. I just came back from the Valley on Sunday and I was able to see my grandfather before he died. He recognized me and responded to me so I’m happy I was able to spend time with him before he died. Tomas Salinas Sr. was a WWII veteran. He rarely spoke about his experiences in the war since it was such a painful event in his life. My father is not taking his death very well, but then again, he never takes these things well.

Different people grieve in different ways I guess.

Some soccer player from France headbutted a player from Italy sending him to the ground in pain during the World Cup recently. That same French player went on to win what is the equivalent of the MVP award in basketball for soccer.

Now let me get this straight, Marcus Vick steps on a guy on the field and gets tossed out of college football. Barry Bonds has never tested positive for steroids yet is accused on a daily basis and constantly ridiculed. Oh, but the lovely French player gets the most prestigious award in soccer for savagely fouling another player?

This would have never happened in the NBA if Dwayne Wade would have pulled the same stunt in the Finals this year. Marinate on that.

Ken Lay, the founder of the Enron corporation died of a heart attack in Colorado. He was 64. I picture him laughing to death surrounded by a bunch of hookers and blow – burning money in his gigantic vacation home fireplace. Just a rat-like squeal-laugh that boils one’s blood. This is testimony to what a true criminal sounds like when they end up getting their way for a good many years. Lu Pai will probably die a similar death, possibly a warm drowning death having suffocated on filthy lucre instead of a heart attack. Oh, and more hookers, blow and money than Lay. All the while, ex-Enron employees still suffer the after effects of the greatest corporate collape in history. Burn in hell for wronging so many.

Crime doesn’t pay. You’ve once again beat the odds and escaped consequence you slippery little bitch. I’m sure your partner in theft will somehow dodge a steep sentence as well and find a way to defraud more innocent investors, employees, tax payers and overall good citizens.

There’s a nice place in hell for people like you and those who supported you. (You won’t get a chance to pick out your favorite cabin configuration for your private jet while your company is tanking there.) You’ll just be in… Oh well, what’s the use. The damage is done and you can no longer hurt those who naively place their trust in you. You can no longer muck up the image of American business with your selfishness, scandals and prostitution. I hope one of your vacation homes will suffice for your family. I’m sure they’ve grown accustomed to a standard of living, but they’ll have to entertain the idea of not visiting the spa every other day. They might actually have to fire their staff of beauticians and personal trainers and join a gym.

And they say people who rob convenient stores are criminals. Hell, those guys do more time than you ever would have, and they only stole 82 bucks and a pack of smokes.

Haven’t had much time to write lately. Work and life have been getting in the way. I do want to note that I recently purchased one of my favorite movies of all time on DVD. American Psycho. Christian Bale is awesome as Patrick Bateman. Here is an excerpt:

I live in the American Gardens building on West 81st street – on the 11th floor. I’m 27 years old. I believe in taking care of myself. In a balanced diet and a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy, I’ll put on an icepack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now.

After I remove the icepack, I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a water activated gel cleanser. Then a honey-almond body scrub. And on the face, an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask, which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an aftershave lotion, with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older – then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing/protective lotion.

There is an idea of me. Some kind of abstraction, but there is no real me. Only an entity. Something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours, and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable. I simply am not there.

The Mavericks are back to being losers. Give it up to the Miami Heat who came back from being down 2-0 and almost going down to 3-0 if it weren’t for the Game 3 heroics of Dwayne Wade. The Mavericks were lucky to even be in the NBA Finals. The Spurs were at the brunt of every bad call imaginable in the Mavericks series. It all came down to one no-call and the refs gave Dallas the series.

Unfortunately for the Dallas Mavericks and their spoiled brat of an owner, the refs started calling games more and more accurately as the Finals went on. To their demise, no more ticky-tack fouls went their way.

Good riddens to a team that squeaked by the World Champs and to a town that is fake, cheap, low class and nasty. Goodbye.
